چکیده

AudioSculpt is an application for the musical analysis and processing of sound files. The program allows very detailed study of a sound's spectrum, waveform, fundamental frequency and partial contents. Multiple algorithms provide automatic segmentation of sounds. All analyses can be edited, stored and used to guide processing within the application, such as spectral filtering, time-stretching and noise removal, or serve as input for compositional environments. The current version is a complete revision, introducing many new features, a real-time mode, new analysis, processing and segmentation algorithms plus a significantly enhanced user interface. The introduction of SDIF as data format for analysis data and the ability to use long and multichannel sound files, take the application to a new level of usability.

Analysis-assisted Sound Processing with Audiosculpt

Digital audio effects using phase vocoder techniques are currently in widespread use. However, their interfaces often hide vital parameters from the user. This fact, and the generally limited ways in which sound designing and compositional tools can represent sounds and their spectral content, complicates the effective use of the full potential of modern effect processing algorithms. This artic...

Selective deficits in human audition: evidence from lesion studies

The human auditory cortex is the gateway to the most powerful and complex communication systems and yet relatively little is known about its functional organization as compared to the visual system. Several lines of evidence, predominantly from recent studies, indicate that sound recognition and sound localization are processed in two at least partially independent networks. Evidence from human...

Parallel processing in human audition and post-lesion plasticity

Recent activation and electrophysiological studies have demonstrated that sound recognition and localization are processed in two distinct cortical networks that are each present in both hemispheres. Sound recognition and/or localization may be, however, disrupted by purely unilateral damage, suggesting that processing within one hemisphere may not be sufficient or may be disturbed by the contr...
